- Before the claim the applicant must accumulate the insured working hours of 600 in 52 weeks.
- The maternity benefit can be only claimed for 15 weeks.
- The standard parental benefit can be only claimed for 40 weeks. These 40 weeks can be shared by the parents and there is a condition that one parent cannot receive over 35 weeks.
- The extended parental benefit can be claimed for 69 weeks and these 69 weeks can be shared by the parents but there is a condition that one parent cannot receive over 61 weeks.
