Federal Minimum Wage Hike @ 1st April, 2025

The Federal minimum wage has been hiked from $17.30 per hour to $17.75 per hour. This represents a 2.4% increase. This adjustment will apply to all the employees who work in federally regulated sectors. The increase is aligned with the CPI to reflect the inflationary pressures and to support the workers purchasing power. This rate is applicable from April 1st, 2025. 

Provincial & Territorial Minimum Wage Adjustment 2025

In addition to federal increase, several provinces and territories have adjusted their Canada Minimum Wage In 2025

  • New Brunswick: Effective April 1st, 2025, the minimum wage is increased to $15.65 per hour. 
  • Newfoundland & Labrador: Effective April 1st, 2025, the minimum wage is increased to $16.00 per hour. 
  • Nova Scotia: On 1st April 2025, the minimum wage rose to $15.70 per hour with a further increase to $16.50 scheduled for October 1st, 2025. 
  • Yukon: The minimum wage raised to $17.94 effective on 1st April, 2025. 

Upcoming Minimum Wage Rate Adjustment 2025:

  • British Columbia: Current wage is $17.40 per hour and it’s scheduled to be raised to $17.85 per hour from 1st June 2025. 
  • Manitoba: Current wage rate is $15.80 per hour and from this it’s going to be $16.00 per hour on 1st October 2025.
